– WWE has signed Aaron Stevens (a/k/a Idol Stevens) to a developmental contract. Stevens was situated in the company’s developmental system for years, culminating with a brief stint on SmackDown in 2006. After being removed from the main roster when Michelle McCool was hospitalized in late 2006, Stevens returned to Ohio Valley Wrestling. He was ultimately released on August 6, 2007. He spent the past two years working for the Puerto Rican-based World Wrestling Council promotion.

There is a great deal of speculation about Chris Jericho possibly departing WWE, or at the very least taking a leave of absence, when his contract expires this September. His game show “Downfall” on ABC, according to Jericho’s twitter, will resume filming episodes this fall, and now he has also released a list of UK tour dates for his band Fozzy. As you can see, two of the shows fall on a Monday night and Jericho is (for now) a member of the Raw roster. Moreover, the schedule is extensive and would require him to be out of the country for an extended period in the month of October:

11th – Sheffield, Corporation, a Monday night
13th – Edinburgh, Studio 24
14th – Belfast, Spring & Airbreak

Micheals was very upset with the way the Bryan Danielson situation was dealt with and that combined with Vince still being upset that HBK left has put a serious strain on their relationship.

It should be noted, however, that both Rey Mysterio and MVP donned gloves on last week’s shows.

Näillä copy&paste-sivustojen tyypeillä on joku kumma ongelma luetunymmärtämisen tai kirjoittamisen kanssa. Sanasta sanaan he eivät saisi uutisia kopioida, ja omin sanoin kirjoittaessaan sisällöllä on tapana vääntyä aika vääräksi. Alunperin Meltzer kirjoitti näin: "Not sure what happened with Shawn Michaels but those in marketing were told a few weeks ago that Vince has put the thumbs down to any usage of things related to the image of Michaels." Tietääkseni markkinointiväki ei päätä selostajien tai painijoiden sanomisista ja korkeintaan osittain videoiden sisällöstä. Mutta sitten hyviin uutisiin! Japanilainen promootio Dramatic Dream Team eli DDT teki taas ihmeen kun sen vuoden suurinta show'ta, Ryogoku Peter Pan 2010 Summer Vacationia, oli Tokion legendaarisessa Sumo Hallissa katsomassa 8800 katsojaa. Vuosi sitten se yllätti kaikki 8865:llä katsojalla, joten paljon huonommin ei mennyt tällä kertaa, vaikka tärkeistä otteluista Naomichi Marufuji vs. Kota Ibushi peruuntui muutamaa päivää aiemmin Ibushin loukkaannuttua. DDT on siis kokonsa puolesta yleensä ROHiin verrattu pikkupromootio, joka ei saa n. 2000 katsojan Korakuen Hallia ikinä täyteen ja muualla katsojia on korkeintaan muutama sata. Japanin ykköspromootio New Japan on tuon katsojamäärän ylittänyt tänä vuonna vain Tokyo Domessa ja WWE:ltä se jäänee Japanissa kokonaan saavuttamatta.

On NOAH kaksi kertaa suunnilleen tuon verran vetänyt Nippon Budokaniin tänä vuonna. Siihen on tosin tarvittu kovia nimiä muualta kun helmikuussa mukana oli mm. Togi Makabe mestaruusmatsissa, Yoshihiro Takayama, Toshiaki Kawada, Minoru Suzuki ja Kensuke Sasaki. Toukokuussa taas houkutuksena oli Global League -turnauksen finaalipäivä, jossa mukana NOAH-väen lisäksi muutama edellä mainituista. Sen jälkeen on mennyt varsin huonosti isoimmissa tapahtumissa hallien ollessa puolillaan kun 10.7. erittäin tasokas card (Sugiura vs. Takayama, Shiozaki vs. Tanahashi, Morishima vs. Yoshie jne.) veti vain 5300 katsojaa Tokyo Ariake Colosseumiin ja 24.7. PPV Osakassa (Sasaki vs. Shiozaki sekä Yuji Nagata ja Shinsuke Nakamura New Japanista jne.) 3500 katsojaa.

Täytyy vielä sen verran tarkentaa, että New Japanilla on toki vasta isoimmat Sumo Hallin show't edessä kun kohta alkaa G1 Climax, jonka viimeinen tai kenties kaksi viimeistä show'ta kerää enemmän katsojia kuin DDT. Lisäksi Dragon Gate on tänä vuonna pari kertaa yltänyt tuonne 10 000 katsojan paikkeille, mutta sen promootion touhuista en tiedä juuri mitään.
